Decaying City
Decaying City
Crows circle above ageing buildings as the city slowly disappears into shadow. The image carries a feeling of unease and abandonment, where concrete, sky, and silence blend into something almost dreamlike.
This hand-made cyanotype print was created using traditional photographic chemicals, sunlight exposure, water, and a physical negative. The deep blue tones, grain, and imperfect edges are all natural outcomes of the process, giving the print a raw and atmospheric character.
Printed by hand on 300 GSM watercolour paper, this artwork exists as a single original piece. No digital reproduction, no second copy. Every cyanotype reacts differently to light and chemistry, making each print entirely unique.
Part of an ongoing six-year exploration of handmade photographic printing, urban decay, and fleeting moments within changing cities.
