This book grew out of years spent working in bad weather.

I Left My Address with the Storm is a handmade photobook built from my most atmospheric photographs, images made in rain, snow, cyclones, fog, and some of the most extreme weather conditions I have encountered. For years, bad weather has drawn me in like a moth to fire. I began photographing it seriously in 2014, when I encountered Super Cyclone Hudhud on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in Odisha. That experience changed my relationship with weather, and after that, I was pulled even closer to these conditions.

Over the years, I have photographed snowstorms that lasted for more than a week without stopping, walked miles after miles in extreme cold, in near-zero visibility with very limited clothing multiple times in different locations. A few years ago in Uttarakhand, I narrowly survived what could have been certain death. I walked more than twenty kilometers alone through relentless rain in high Himalayas to reach a village below, to arrange rescue for dozens of people stranded above 14,000 feet.

These experiences shaped how I see and how I photograph. I feel weather in my body, under my skin. Every cell responds to the air of extreme nature. The photographs in this book are not about spectacle or drama. They are about presence, about staying when retreat feels sensible, and about acknowledging vulnerability rather than avoiding it.

The book contains 40 black and white photographs, sequenced carefully across 72 pages. The images are arranged as a rhythm rather than a narrative, quiet moments interrupted by pressure, much like weather itself. There are no captions or locations. The experience is meant to remain open and tactile.

Every copy of this book is made entirely by hand by the author. From editing and sequencing the images to designing, printing, cutting, and binding, nothing is outsourced. The book is produced using handmade paper sourced directly from paper makers in West Bengal. The surface is slightly rough and uneven, an intentional choice that softens the photographs and resists perfect smoothness. The images feel absorbed into the paper rather than sitting on top of it, matching the raw and unsettled nature of the work.

The book is bound as a handmade hardcover. Each copy carries small variations and imperfections, marks of touch and time that make every book slightly different. This is not a mass-produced object. It is meant to be held, opened slowly, and lived with.

The edition is strictly limited to 49 copies, plus 1 Artist Proof. This small scale allows the work to remain personal, sustainable, and closely connected to the process of making.

The book is titled - I Left My Address with the Storm
In Bengali: আমি ঝড়ের কাছে রেখে গেলাম আমার ঠিকানা

If you choose to own a copy, you are not only buying photographs.
You are holding a trace of weather, risk, time, and a decision to stay present when leaving would have been easier.
